Brownielocks
and The 3 Bears Salute
"Veteran's Day"
I wrote this poem years ago as a dedication to a friend's older brother who lost his legs in Viet Nam only to be killed later during a robbery at his home. The only small piece of justice is that the murderers were caught and sent to prison. His sister never got over her brother's personal sacrifice ( she died last year) nor his untimely death. I regret never stopping and chatting. So, this poem is for all Disabled Vets from any war/conflict who feel people don't notice or care. We do. We just don't know what to say until it's too late. :( |
Unsung Hero
He was just
another graduate And, every time
I'd see him I am proud to
be an American They found him
lying dead one day, We will no
longer see him |
